Corporate Mobility Startup Treepz Wins Best Startup Pitch in Africa
Corporate mobility startup Treepz has been recognized as the Best Startup Pitch in Africa at the 15th Annual African Union Private Sector High-Level Conference held in Lusaka, Zambia.
The conference was held between October 31st to November 2nd, 2024.
The award was presented by the Global Innovative Initiative Group (GIIG) which recognizes promising startups making significant impact on the African continent.
Treepz describes itself as Africa’s leading mobility company offering logistics services to conferences. The company which was founded in 2019 in Ontario, Canada by Onyeka Akumah where it is still headquartered. It offers employee transportation, conference shuttling, vehicle rental, and personal car renting.
The company was chosen from a select pool of promising startups for its innovative approach to transforming the mobility landscape across Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, and Kenya.
As part of the award, Treepz received financial support totaling $8,500 from the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and Google.
Florence Boboye-Sulyman who is the VP of Business Development and People at Treepz delievered the winning pitch.
Onyeka Akumah, Founder and CEO of Treepz, expressed gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the company’s dedication to providing exceptional mobility services to customers.
